Dr. G. David Moss (aka – Dr. D.) is the founder and lead consultant of MossLight Consulting, a firm focused on cultural, educational, psychological and systems based problem solving. He is a published author, communications expert, and a certified practitioner of the Myers-Briggs personality assessment. Dr. D. has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Systems, both from The Florida State University.

He began his professional career as an educator in Ft. Pierce, Florida, where he served as the Music Director for John Carroll High School. In his third year of teaching, he was honored to be selected as Teacher of the Year. He served four years as an Admissions Coordinator for Florida State University. While a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at the University of Notre Dame, Dr. D. received the Distinguished Graduate Student Award from the Notre Dame Alumni Association. He earned his Masters and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 2001. Dr. Moss was employed at the University of Notre Dame for 15 years. His job titles included: Special Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs; Senior Consultant to the Vice President for Student Affairs; and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. His most recent position prior to the launch of MossLight Consulting was serving as the Director of African American Student and Parent Services for the South Bend Community School Corporation (Op-ed on Equity vs. Equality). A position he held for 3 ½ years.

Dr. D. reports that one of his proudest moments was coaching the I-Robotics team to their first FIRST Lego League state championship and, thus, taking 10 South Bend school children to Germany for 10 days to compete in the Open European Championship. He is equally proud of his work with Edel Quinn Odongo to create and administer the Jim Karaffa Business Academy for Women (JKBAW) located in the Kibera slum of Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Moss has been married to his wife, Tammy, for 25 years and they are the proud parents of 6 children.
