Introduction

Welcome to MossLight Consulting. We are a firm rooted in relationship, and built on cultural, educational, psychological and systems-based problem solving. Central to this process is the realization that humans, and the systems they operate in, are holistic in nature.

Nothing happens in isolation, and life as we know it would not exist without systems. They propel us forward and provide a map for predictable outcomes. We dare not forget, however, that the human spirit is autonomous and powerful; capable of either enhancing or diminishing the effectiveness of any system. A healthy system operates in a manner that is greater than the sum of its parts. A maladaptive system works against itself and degenerates into destructive, self-serving behavior. This is true in the micro (individual) and the macro (organization).

At MossLight Consulting we have the ability to specifically develop solutions that meet both the individual and organizational needs of any system. About Us

Under the leadership of Dr. G. David Moss, MossLight Consulting is comprised of diverse and gifted experts, seasoned professionals and energetic, relevant millennials.  Each brings their own unique brand of creativity, strength and passion to the work.  On call are youth workers, restorative justice trainers, diversity experts, Myers-Briggs specialists, lawyers, pastors, medical professionals, academics, statisticians, computer scientists, educational leaders, etc.  As lead consultant, Dr. D. works with each client to create a set of goals and outcomes that align with the individual or organization’s strategic priorities.  Once a direction is decided upon, a team is assembled with the single purpose of successfully completing the task at hand.

Some examples of our work:

MossLight Consulting was engaged by Intrinsic Schools to create a safe space for teachers to discuss important issues related to diversity and inclusion.  In the past these conversations were painfully difficult.  Dr. D. called in three restorative practices experts to train staff in the art of circles.  In a recent survey, 79% of Intrinsic staff indicated that their circle was safe enough for them to share something if they wanted to.  Although still in process, the administration at Intrinsic Schools has been so impressed with MossLight Consulting that they recently extended our service agreement for another academic year. Throughout the process, the administration of intrinsic schools also praised Dr. D’s ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere and to facilitate thoughtful conversations.

When the South Bend Community School Corporation wanted to engage Black male high school students in academically focused dialogue, Dr. D. enlisted a former professional basketball player, a rising star school administrator and a JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) skills trainer to develop and facilitate the 1^st ever Busara Black Male Summit.  In addition, 150 Black male professionals from all sectors of the community were recruited to participate as role models.  Needless to say, when evaluation surveys were reviewed, the student experience was positive beyond expectations.  (see media section for video and survey results)
